In November of last year I started following this girl on tumblr. I wasn’t looking for a relationship because I had just gotten out of a really horrible one with a guy I had been in love with for 2 years.

Her blog was a mixture of hilarious & totally nerdy. I loved it & it eventually became my top tumblr crush (where it has stayed since that day). Eventually we started talking, I learned her name & where she was from. I also found she loved Batman as much as I did & that she had AMAZING taste in music. We got along right away & started talking every day.

I’m a bit computer-challenged, I barely know what I’m doing half the time but she is a total whiz when it comes to technology & that became a running joke. So mixing our love of Batman & the little inside joke we arranged that when I needed help with my computer I would post a photo of the Batsignal. So, it went on for a few more weeks that we would talk constantly, joke around & we kept learning things about eachother. But it actually turned into something that I would post whenever I missed/wanted to talk to her.

Then, one day we were talking about our crushes, and I wanted to know what the person she liked was like. I said “how about I ask you questions & you answer yes or no” & her reply came almost immediately “Well, that could take a while… How about I just tell you that it’s you I like.” I was over the moon, I honestly could not have been happier that she shared the feelings I had for her. So, there it was, we had told eachother that the feelings were mutual, where to go from there? Well, I asked her to be my Valentine & she said yes!!

One night I was laying in bed, after just saying goodnight to her I got a notification from tumblr, saying I’d received a message. I read it & my heart started RACING. “So, it’s taken me a while to work up the courage to do this but, I want you to be mine, & not just my Valentine, I want you to be my girlfriend.” I was shocked & speechless. I hit reply but it took me so long to write such a simple message because I was so happy. “Oh my god, yes, of course I want to be your girlfriend” & that’s it. That’s how it all started. So, our “official” anniversary is the 28th of January 2012.

We haven’t even been together for a month, yes. But I’m so happy with this girl. She’s 12,000 kilometres away from me, we’ve never got to meet or hug or do any of those coupley things but she makes me happier then I’ve been in a really long time. She’s even teaching me to swear in Spanish. She’s a beautiful, intelligent, funny person. She has the most spectacular smile & I can’t wait until June of 2013, when I can go to Las Vegas & be with her for mine & her birthdays.
